If the price for this table dance WAS death...I'd still pay it. DAMN YOU SATANICO!!!
Oh, there’s going to be problems in my future, I think, over this review of From Dusk Till Dawn. Why? Well, while I admit to thinking that this was a fun movie when I was a younger man. Now, however, the shine is off the apple. And, opinions on this movie tend to run hot. (more…)

I'll join you in the fruit cellar, Cheryl! I promise!
One of these days, we’ll get to a movie that I haven’t reviewed before, but it won’t be today. The Evil Dead is a brilliant, disgusting gem of a film, shot with love, ingenuity, on the cheap, and definitely on the fly. (more…)

If someone had just given the little shit a hug, all this could have been avoided.
I’ve previously reviewed this movie last year, but it’s such a good movie, there’s no reason not to take another brief crack at it. Halloween was, by design, it seems, never supposed to be franchise spinning juggernaut, but that’s just what it’s become. (more…)

Malls suck! Malls filled with zombies, doubly so.
This will be the review that loses me at least one of my six readers (sorry, Grandma). Why? Well, Dawn of the Dead is one of the most critically acclaimed horror films of all time. I’m about to badmouth it. (more…)

Damn! That middle pumpkin is TERRIFYING!
Back when ManWithPez first started lo almost a year ago, I started off on a quest to write at least one horror film review for every day of October leading up to Halloween. I accomplished that mission handily, I think. This year, in collaboration with ThatWeirdGirl (nee’ ThatCostumeGirl) and Chris Gaskey of ChrisDude and The Dork Tower fame, we are going to…well, we’re just going to do the same thing I did last year. Heh. The difference is that Chris has chosen the list of films we shall review. As we are planning to make this an annual event, next year will be ThatWeirdGirl’s turn to pick. Some of the films, I’ve already reviewed, but I’m not skipping out on those. All new reviews will come for the movies I’ve already reviewed, as well as links to the two other blogger’s daily reviews of the same movies. We three are all allowed to review seperate films alone, or in conjunction with one or both other members of the team. We’re all very excited about the possibilities. As you can tell from my (Oh damn! What word do I say here? Uh…Nipples? No, that’s wrong. PANTS! Shit! That’s even worse…uh…uh…) writing. You can expect dissent, as ThatWeirdGirl has already pointed out on her Livejournal blog. I think that’s the most exciting part for me. I’m representing Wordpress, Chris is coming in with Tumblr, and ThatWeirdGirl is using Livejournal as her platform. Anyways, we hope you like what we’re about to do. Expect a few kinks in the beginning. We don’t really know what we’re doing.

Huey Lewis said it best "That's the power of love."
Upfront I should tell you that I’m a huge fan of the Scott Pilgrim books. They’re brilliant, fun, and ring alarmingly true at times. You can tell they hit a chord with Edgar Wright, who directed the new Scott Pilgrim vs. The World movie. What hath Edgar wrought this time? Find out after the jump. (more…)

CLASH! A-AHHH! He saved every one of us!
Because I’m cheap, and, and because I don’t presuppose about movies (especially when it comes to remakes), I took my children off to see the remake of Clash of the Titans. My kids haven’t seen the 1981 original, and I haven’t seen it in several years. As with most things I liked when I was a child, I’m afraid to catch up, lest my adult sensibilities tell me that I was in love with total crap when I was a kid. Nostalgia can kiss my ass! Anyways, have a look at my thoughts concerning the new Clash of the Titans after the jump. (more…)

May I present the Winter Gangbang of 1954!
“We’re going to have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tapdanced with Danny fuckin’ Kaye.” – Clark W. Grizzwald (Christmas Vacation). See, as a film, White Christmas has pervaded popular culture, and at no time more, of course, than for the holiday it’s named for. While there may be one or two Christmas films out there that you can brush off in, say, July and give a look, White Christmas is probably more suited for such a thing, but it’s not the kind of film you can simply watch over and over. I’ll tell you why after the jump. (more…)

That's not a salad she's making. That's bacon. Yeah, I know. It IS a crime to do that to bacon.
I was thinking that perhaps I left something off my list of Alternative Christmas Movies, and it hit me! The Savage Steve Holland opus Better Off Dead! I loved this movie as a kid, and I still love it! The path of thinking that led me here? What the hell ever happened to Savage Steve Holland? Oh…and John Cusack should make another film with him. Better Off Dead gets its props after the jump. (more…)

All the reason I'd ever need to watch this show, right there.
I avoided Sons of Anarchy for some time, even though it was recommended to me a couple of times, mostly by my mother. Well, folks, Momma was right again! I simply couldn’t get my head around a serious show based on a motorcycle club. Comedy based on such a thing? No problem. Drama? No way! However, had someone told me that I would be watching some decent acting, I’d have thought twice. What I needed to be told, however, was about the heavy Shakespearian influence this show is steeped in. Now, there…that would have been a point of interest for me. Harley Dynas and Hamlet? Sign me up! (more…)
