It’s that time of the year, but every year around a holiday, I start to notice that some of the fun is missing.  Especially Halloween.  When I was a kid, every year, it seemed, there was a new animated special (most likely on CBS, who had the best special program bumper of all time!) or made for TV movie or special episode that kept you glued to the television and away from harmful things like fresh air and exercise.  So, it is with a touch of nostalgia that I introduce my personal top ten favorite halloween themed TV offerings from years past.  I know such things exist now, but I don’t really want to watch Zack and Cody fuck up my favorite holiday, thanks.  Here we go, in personal rank order: (more…)

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Anyone who’s known me for the last ten years or more can tell you that on Halloween, I watch three films.  Anyone who’s known me for five years or less can tell you that I try to watch a horror film everyday for the month of October. This list is made fresh every year, the only ones not changing are the ones on Halloween proper.  Occasionally, I get burned out, but I press through, because what I watch on Halloween gives me such a happy.  Without further boring words, here’s the schedule this year: (more…)
