Look It Up: Misfits

Is it just me, or has S Club 7 just stopped trying?

Is it just me, or has S Club 7 just stopped trying?

We here at ManWithPez have noticed that the American television scene has gotten a little stale of late.  There are a few sparks out there, but that’s not I’m writing about here today.  Today I’m writing about British TV genre show Misfits, airing on E4.  It’s aired two seasons, one Christmas special, and has announced a third season for later this year.  When 5 delinquents performing community service are suddenly stricken with superpowers, what do they do next?  That’s what’s facing these young twentysomethings.  Also, they’re kind of rude…but in the funniest possible way.  To me, watching this show is like watching someone who decided to fix Heroes…and did it correctly.  Granted the format isn’t quite the same, but the idea is similiar.  So, if you’ve got the ability to see it, by all means, watch Misfits, laugh at Robert Sheehan, and come back and thank me.  I’m worth it!

Gruesome Twosome Day 7: Young Frankenstein

Would that all parody films were created with such love and care as this one was.

Would that all parody films were created with such love and care as this one was.

What can I write about one of the funniest movies ever made?  Not much that you haven’t already heard, so I’ll keep this short.  If you haven’t seen Young Frankenstein, well, first off, what are you doing here?  Second off, do you realize you’re letting one of the best written, most brilliant pieces of film get past you?  No?  Well, get to watching it, dummy! The Blown Fuse Project

Mon ,23/08/2010

Marvel at my son’s acting abilities!  Okay, so the fact is that he didn’t want to be in the video, and I’m afraid it shows, but, by all means, please enjoy this, the last of our summer horror movie parodies.  We had fun, and I hope you had fun watching them.

The Cave Event

The Descent, to me, is one of the most terrifying films, I’ve ever seen.   My children absolutely love it.  When we starting doing this film short series, they requested that we do a parody of The Descent.  We came up with this one on the fly, but I still love the results.  I hope you like them too.  They were very pleased with this one, mostly because it was shot inside of ten minutes.

Carrie White’s Punch-Out

Mon ,19/07/2010

If you had a red haired daughter, what Stephen King parody would you film?  Carrie gets a going over from Canes Venatici, but not too roughly, because that telekinetic young lady scares me!  Anyways, this is the fourth of our summer film series, but not the last.  hang in there for more in the coming weeks.  You seem to like them, and we love doing them.

The Whining

Mon ,12/07/2010

I know I haven’t been posting much, but that’s going to change very soon, I promise.  I’ve been pretty busy in the meantime, what with my children haunting the hallways around here.  Literally.

Here’s our Stephen King parody of The Shining, called The Whining.  I really hope you like it, as we plan to continue spoofing famous horror films for the next couple of weeks.  Or until we get sick of doing it.

Small chidren and a quart strawberry syrup do NOT mix, by the way!

Sonlight

It’s no secret that I really, really hate Twilight.  I feel it important as a father to say that my children, not so much.  They were more than willing to shoot this parody video for me, which first started written life without them in it, and had a much darker, but equally comic tone.  I’m very proud of both my kids in this one, and once again, the camera caught me as director, bitching at everyone about how terrible their acting was, while blowing every one of my lines and turning in a lackluster performance.  We’re still pretty happy with the finished product, however, and hope you find it as funny as we did.  I present Sonlight.

Do You Know Where Your Children Are?

Mon ,28/06/2010

Above is one of the family activities we’ve taken up since the children have come to live with us this summer.  They love the makeup and getting to be on camera.  ThatCostumeGirl loves making the kids look disgusting, and I…well, I just think my kids look disgusting anyways.  The aim here is to make at least four, if not more, of these little shorts before the kids have to go home for school.  Hopefully this will all work out, but here we present out first short: “Do You Know Where Your Children Are”.  We hope you have as much fun watching it as we did making it.

When You Know You Shouldn’t Laugh…But…

Hey...he's just sayin' what we were all thinking.

Hey...he's just sayin' what we were all thinking.

I have left town this week, and so, you might find this post a little lacking.  Meh, I’ll live.  Also, I know it’s old as hell, but I still can’t help but laugh at this guy’s gall.   I’m not even certain it’s a real, untampered with picture, but I still think it’s funny.  I know I shouldn’t, but, what are you going to do?  Oh, wait…I know!  Iron my shirt, bitch!

Pictures I Find Funny (And Why. Don’t I Always Say Why?)

Thu ,28/01/2010
I...I really have no words for this.

I...I really have no words for this.

I’ll admit that I don’t always laugh at things that most people do, and vice versa.  Actually, it’s served me well throughout the years, but in some cases, I just have to comment on things I’ve found around the internet that I think are fucking funny.  Here’s a few examples of pictures I’ve found here and there.  I’ll credit as I can, but I don’t know them all.  If I have one of your pictures, and you wish for me to credit you, email me, and I’ll be more than happy to.  If you’re full of shit, and you ask me to credit a picture to you that isn’t yours…then you’re an asshole, and authorities higher than me will deal with you, you lying sack!  Pictures after the jump!
