Yeah, I made the mistake of asking my family who I should write this column about this week.  This was my brother’s response, and so, here’s Pee-wee vs Chuck.  If I actually write and intelligible article out of this, I’ll be amazed, but even more than that…YOU should be amazed!  Anyways, you know the drill, Chuck Norris is awesome,but the nerds of the world need their champions too.  So…“Paging Mr. Herman, Mr. Herman, you have a fistfight here at the front desk.”  Here’s Pee-wee Herman vs Chuck Norris. Oh, we’ve been down this avenue before with Alton Brown.  Honestly, I think given the proper preparation time and tools, Alton could actually take down old Beardface.  What, you find that nickname offensive, Norris fans?  Okay, I’ll just start calling him Sasquatch.  Actually, I’m kinda worried that one of my grandparents or another will come over to this site and find me badmouthing Walker.  I’ll probably be disowned.  Heh…It’s worth it.  Alton Brown vs Chuck Norris Round II starts now. For a very special Halloween “vs Chuck Norris” segment, ThatCostumeGirl suggested we set the monsters out there loose on poor little Chuck.  I’m a little uncertain on how to do this, but I’m going to give it a try anyways.  I like Chuck, I do, and no doubt about it, but as a nerd in general and a movie nerd specifically, I think a load of my favorite horror film baddies would put a whoopin’ on the penultimate Texas Ranger, so here goes…Monsters vs Chuck Norris. By now, you’re familiar with the concept.  Chuck Norris is great, yes, but he’s a little much for some of the nerds out there.  Ironic, considering it was internet nerds that fueled the foofaraw from the start.  So, let’s pit Chuck (like we have previously) against someone a little more our speed, and hopefully, wit will take might in the end.  With that in mind, here’s a list inspired by Mythbusters build-team member (and forever crush of ThatCostumeGirl), Grant Imahara. Alton Brown is the affable host of “Good Eats” on Food Network and the MC of “Iron Chef America” and a huge dork. Watching his show is like watching virtually any other cooking show mixed with Mr. Wizard. That being said, I think he’s a perfect candidate to take on Chuck Norris. (more…)

I find the phenomena surrounding Chuck Norris as fascinating and hilarious as the next guy, I really do. But, at times, it’s a bit brawny.  Not everything can be solved with a roundhouse kick.  Therefore, here’s a new icon some of us nerdier types can get behind.  Plus, he’s just awesomer than Chuck Norris.  That’s right, I’m speaking of…Alex Trebek.
