Wow. Casper the Friendly Ghost has really let himself go. (What? Look it up!)

Wow. Casper the Friendly Ghost has really let himself go. (What? Look it up!)

Do I need to remind you that ThatWeirdGirl made the list of movies we’re reviewing this year?  I’m not doing it.  Idle Hands is so horrifyingly bad that it defies any and all of my efforts to review it.  (more…)

Not much different from a lot of bus rides I've taken in the past.

If you looked this good after you fought back legions of the rising dead, and being covered in ectoplasm, you'd pose too.

If you looked this good after you fought back legions of the rising dead, and being covered in ectoplasm, you'd pose too.

What can I say that hasn’t been said?  As a nine year old, I fell in love with this movie, and I’ve never fallen out.  Ghostbusters is a pitch perfect film with awesome comedic timing, ridiculous science fiction trappings, and a wonderful sense of whimsy and the fantastic.  (more…)

Presenting the entirety of Don Knotts's range in this film.

What can I say about this movie.  It’s one of my father’s favorite comedies.  I didn’t pick it for review.  That ThatWeirdGirl apologized to me for making me watch it?  Well, I think that last sums it all up. (more…)

This movie introduced the cheapest Halloween costume alternatives in film history!

This movie introduced the cheapest Halloween costume alternatives in film history!

James Whale and Claude Rains team up to bring us one of the better horror films ever made from back in the 1930s.  What makes this a horror film?  Well, The Invisible Man does kill a startingly high number of people in this movie, but that doesn’t necessarily add up to great horror.  That he does it with a sense of mirth and mayhem?  Well, we’re getting closer. Who wouldn't want the Dementia 13 lunchbox?

Who wouldn't want the Dementia 13 lunchbox?

I’m afraid that ThatWeirdGirl’s review of Dementia 13 (quite a good film, I think) will have to suffice for today.

See! This is where dancing around to The Fixx will get you!

See! This is where dancing around to The Fixx will get you!

You want to make an original, brand new horror film.  So, how do you go about it?  Well, if you’re Ti West, maker of 2009s  The House of the Devil, you make it look exactly like any number of old horror films from the early 1980s, because that shit WORKS. (more…)

Somehow, Rutger, I think this guy will be easier to defeat than Harrison Ford.

Somehow, Rutger, I think this guy will be easier to defeat than Harrison Ford.

What can you say about this film, really?  Well, I have a feeling that what I have to say about The Hitcher, a film that seems to be an internet nerd favorite, will not be all that well recieved. (more…)

Ray Milland sees what you do in the shower, and he's not impressed.

Ray Milland sees what you do in the shower, and he's not impressed.

What dangers hath science wrought?  Well, according to the Roger Corman classic sci-fi horror film X:  The Man With the X-ray Eyes, the answer is none.  But, what if you could suddenly see them?  That’s the real question, isn’t it? (more…)
