Hot Nerd Crush: Katey Sagal and Chiwetel Ejiofor
Monday, January 11th, 2010
Ladies, nerds, rejoice, for it IS Chiwetel Ejiofor!
Two more for the books this week, as we look at an older actress, though still smokin’ ass hot, and one of the better thespians working today. Hot Nerd Crush for Chiwetel Ejiofor and Katey Sagal starts after the jump.
If you’re a big nerd, and let’s face it, you’re reading an article on why Chiwetel Ejiofor is hot, written by a straight man and self professed dork…you’re here and reading it, so I’d take a look in the mirror if you thought you might be anything else but a giant nerd yourself. S’okay. You’re in the right place. Anyways, I’m saying that you probably know of Chiwetel from Serenity, the film based on the failed, but brilliant Firefly (more on that later this week.) Chiwetel Ejiofor has a way of standing out, be it in the huge ensemble Love, Actually, or Spike Lee’s amazing Inside Man, or as Denzel Washington’s brother in American Gangster. Every time you see him, you know you’re getting quality. I think ThatCostumeGirl might slap me if I failed to mention his cross dressing turn in Kinky Boots, or a surprise turn in the equally surprising martial arts film Redbelt…so, they’re mentioned here.

Daaaaamn! It's GOOD to be Married With Children!
Katey Sagal has found spanning almost three decades that she has managed to remain a household name. Pretty impressive, I think. And, some of that time was done simply with voicework! Cool! Everyone…EVERYONE knows her as Peg Bundy from Married With Children, which, as you might recall, managed to stay on the air for a very respectable ten years. As goofy as that bouiffant was, and as outrageous as her clothes were, there was something sexy in that strange wiggle walk of hers. She put her voice to good use as Leela on Futurama, and Katey is an accomplished singer as well as an actress. I remember her for her couple of turns as John Locke’s old flame on Lost, but she wasn’t on there very much, and now she’s letting everyone know that older might just definitely be better on Sons of Anarchy. Ah, from the early days of Fox, to the later days of…well, it’s still Fox, as Sons of Anarchy runs on FX. Either way, she’s simply gorgeous, and supremely talented. I can’t wait to see what her arc brings us next season on Sons.
