Hot Nerd Crush #11: Madchen Amick

   Monday, December 21st, 2009
I almost forgive her for the umlaut. Almost.

I almost forgive her for the umlaut. Almost.

Okay, clearly I don’t have the ability to access my keyboard’s special characters, including the ever elusive and possibly nonexistent UMLAUT!  I don’t need it, I don’t want to use it…but this weeks Hot Nerd Crush, who uses one of the imaginary characters in her name, almost…ALMOST makes me want to think differently.  Hot Nerd Crush Madchen Amick begins after the jump.

I first noticed Madchen in the wonderfully strange Twin Peaks.  Then again, there really isn’t a David Lynch project that you couldn’t call wonderfully strange, is there.  Nothing strange about Madchen, however (Except her name).  Her role as Shelly, abused wife of Leo, lover of Bobby, and Double R Diner waitress made for decent TV viewing.  At least, with all the other weirdness revolving around the mystery of who killed Laura Palmer, a simple case of domestic abuse seemed almost pedestrian.  Before you get all up in arms about the callousness of what I’m saying, I don’t think there was a nerd in this country who, for a small amount of time, wasn’t looking to blame all of their problems on a man with one arm.  At least until The Fugitive came out.

Just before she was in Twin Peaks, Madchen Amick has a starring role in a piece of shit B film called I’m Dangerous Tonight.  It’s about a haunted cape.  No shit.  It’s about an Aztec haunted piece of fabric that Madchen makes a dress out of, and then goes batshit.  The DRESS MAKES YOU KILL PEOPLE!  Which is fortunate, because it just wasn’t my size, thank God.  Given that the other actor that was looking for it was Anthony Perkins (fitting, I suppose…an openly gay actor trying to get his hands on a dress of power?), you’d think Madchen would just let him have the damn thing.  Then again…well, perhaps you should just find this one and see for yourself, huh?

Heh...Pearl necklace.

Heh...Pearl necklace.

Stephen King once wrote a script directly for the screen called Sleepwalkers.  Okay, it’s not all the great, but, hey, Madchen Amick’s in it, eh?  That alone ought to be worth a look.  Okay, I won’t go too much into this one, because I’ve reviewed it already.  Just suffice it to say that Madchen Amick is hot, and leave it at that.

Can't talk..Nerd Crush...too...hot!

Can't talk..Nerd Crush...too...hot!

Of late, she could be seen in My Own Worst Enemy, which was not, I was saddened to find out, a reality show about the band Lit, but rather some kind of strange personality disorder fueled spy show.  Having said that, I can say, without a doubt that Christian Slater was DEFINITELY in this show.  Yep.  He was right there.  Okay, I didn’t watch it, despite the hotness of Madchen Amick.  Perhaps I was still angry with her about Joey, or Freddie, or whatever weird racial stereotype sitcom she was starring in at the time.

Doesn’t stop her from being damn hot, however.  Hell no.
